Am I correct in my interpretation of distance selling regulations in relation to the purchase of a new car (factory order).

As long as the sale was entirely conducted remotely I.e. By phone and email, these regs apply to the purchase and the order can be cancelled at any time up to 14 days *after* delivery of the vehicle?

Therefore, assuming this is correct, the order can be cancelled pre-delivery without penalty or any comeback from the supplying dealer?

DSR haven't existed since 2014. Consumer Contract Regulations are the replacement. "Personalised goods" are excluded from the right to cancel. Whether that includes a factory-order car to your spec or not is a greyish area, AIUI, but if it's all pick-from-the-list options, then you should be OK.

Thank you. My understanding is also that brochure options do not constitute 'personalisation' within the scope of the regs.
