DVLA history - last taxed 2006 but no MOT history?

I've come across a Honda VFR400R3 being sold as part of a house clearance with no V5 or paper history.

I've run the reg through the online history checker and it shows as tax due November 2006 but no MOT history.

Can any one shed any light on this? Surely if it was taxed in 2005 there should be MOT history, or was this before it was digitised?

the mot system online only started around then i think.

Tax due Nov 06 could mean that the last MOT was done in Nov/Dec 04.

MOT computerisation started in early 2005, and wasn't complete for about a year - so no tests before then will be online, and not all for that overlap period.

Well I'm now going to try and get in contact with the chap which may not be that straight forward as silly me didn't take his number down.
