Her in doors had decided that her Evoque had got to go and in fairness, I agree with her, it's been far from reliable and has now developed another fault with the locking.

She wants a BMW X1, new shape one, but I'm not so sure as our youngest gets travel sick quite a lot.

Selection criteria:
Similar or more power than the Evoque (180hp I think it is)
Automatic
Can't be any smaller than the Evoque
Must be 4x4 but not necessarily a SUV (she has snow anxiety, don't go there, I've given up arguing with her to be honest)
Budget about £25k

She likes Nissan Quashquais but not enough power, doesn't like X-Trails as they are too big.

I'm thinking Hyundai Tucson or a Ford Kuga.

Any thoughts chaps?

Cheers!

Thanks, the Edge looks better than a Kuga.

VW Tiguan, SEAT Ateca, outgoing Volvo XC60 or the new Skoda Karoq (not sure on the power with that one though) would be my shouts.

£25k would just about get you an Audi SQ5 BiTDI.

The Edge is a good car very well equipped & well built also underrated.

Keep an eye over the next month for some Edge Vignales coming to market from Ford's Press & Management fleet they will have more miles than the cars I listed above but they're another step on again in terms of interior & worth stretching for.

Just to give an idea of spec on a Vignale:

Would this be popular?

Suspect supply might improve of these, but it's hard to tell.

Or how about the same engine in a Leon Cupra AWD estate?

She's already spotted one of those. She doesn't do many miles so one a few years old up on miles makes sense. It does to me anyway!

The Evoque has been replaced with a X1 25d auto. It's a fair bit quicker than the Evoque, quite a nice drive really. I'm hoping this one will have less trips to the garage but it needs to go back already as the dealer has fitted one wrong tyre. At least they are fitting the right one without any arguments!
