Relative wants to lease a new car for 25 -30 thousand mainly motorway miles a year. Prefers petrol, wants comfort (fairly big bloke), basically wants to spend the minimum without feeling cramped or suffering lack of motorway refinement. Bit dubious of highly tuned 1 litre engines.

Octavia (1.4 TSI) seems the obvious choice. Or maybe Volvo V40 or Vauxhall Astra.

What have I forgotten?

If it's a Skoda then don't discount the Yeti, very comfortable with its raised ride height & loads of headroom.

Octavia or Superb great car especially for long distance

BMW 3 series also worth a shout, none M sports on <18" wheels comfy cruise and although the steering not as good as Octavia the chassis are still capable.

Comparible deals on the new Superb are just as good as the Octavia according to http://www.contractthireandleasing.com and it's nicer, bigger car to spend those kind of miles in I'd say.

30k miles a year is going to make leasing expensive though.

Would have to be the Superb for me. Can't stand what they've done with the front end on the Octavia.

There's a few delivery mileage VW CC 1.8 turbos at VW dealers just now. They look good and have full leather.

It's still available to configure on their website and a heap of 17 plate ones on the autotrader website, I'm guessing that it's still available
