I've just finished with an A4 that had Stronic.

Looking at next options for a motor i'm considering based on the state of the car market at the moment to capitalise and go sensible buying something 3-4 years old with a cash loan rather than PCP'ing again.

Still with an allegiance to Lederhosen of the car market i'm thinking whether I go with DSG/Stronic boxes for a car of this age.

I'd expect to keep it for 2-3 years.

Anyone had any horror stories on these boxes when they get to an age/mileage level?

Stick to a proper automatic and avoid the Stronic/dsg box.

I'd rather go manual.

Not even sure they do a CVT in the motors im looking at in VAG range.

Our old B7 A4 is a CVT and i prefer it to the DSG, I think Audi ditched them around 2014

Yeh, they have now mate.

The new Mk8 Passat only has DSG.

Performance in it was silly but a oil change every 40000 is required.
