Hello all, what a day today has been...

Long story short, sold my mums car today in a private sale, was open and honest as we could have been and divulged all known faults on the phone (without them asking) before they came to see it. Guy comes back after an hour saying there is something wrong with it and that he wants his money back. Got aggressive to the point my parents didn't want any further hassle/violence as this guy seemed to be edging that way and so they returned his money and sent him on his way.

Anyway, the sale was logged online on the gov uk website shortly after he'd first left. (being the last day of the month they thought they'd get it logged before losing out on the next months road tax fee).

We now have the car back, the keys and all the V5-C paperwork including the 'New Keeper Supplement' and a bit of paper with a hand-written note from them stating that they have returned the vehicle and received their cash back to cancel the sale.

Question - is it possible to cancel the transfer of ownership with the DVLA and how can I do this?

All currently a bit shaken! Thanks in advance.
