Spec me a car- under 10k, comfortable
Discussion
Currently driving a battered 2003 MK6 Ford Fiesta, would like an upgrade with the following requirements if possible:
1.) Comfortable and quiet, to put this in perspective I drove a 2013 Mazda 3 once and was not that impressed by the interior or general refinement
2.) Under £10k (closer to £5k the better)
3.) Reasonably economical (average 40+ mpg)
4.) Gadgets (not so important) but would be nice to have bluetooth audio streaming and front+rear parking sensors
Unrealistic requirements?

Just bought a 2013 from a dealer for 10k, 90k fjsh & premium lux (one down from top spec) amazing stereo system as standard (meridien) silky smooth 8sp auto
I'd wager private could be had for less.
I do see good Jag xf's and Volvo V40's for sale in the Midlands and anywhere north or London, but in the south east there's nothing, everything is overpriced down here for some reason?I'd wager private could be had for less.

I've spent countless hours finding a car but it seems that finding something under 10k in the south east is hard to find, I think everyone is just leasing or financing new cars
Shame, I enjoy the auto trader game. Often give myself a budget and see what’s the best I can find. If I were in your shoes, I’d lease....lot of options and £10k could get you a few years on the lease (2 cars)

and flew in from france, traveling to get the car you want is a given reallyWouldnt recomend teh dealer i used though, had an ac fault apparent after sale but turns out was pressent when dealer sold and they knew, took an age to get the money out of them because it wasnt warranty lead, got it out of them though, doesnt detract from how happy with the car i am though, cant beleive how good they are for then money, nothing merc offered post 2007 at that price compared in terms of luxury, cls was close and was surprised how good a 2009 A5 was but the tech on both was way behind the jag.

i didnt look at the earlier xf as i wanted the new front end as it looks so
to me
But given the chance to look again id be tempted to look at thenpre facelift portfolio as you get the cooled seats, maybe even the 5.0 portfolio as you get the adaptive cruise on many of those, both these options were high on my list but looks one over function

What about the Ford Mondeo?
Nothing wrong with a Mondy.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Loads around, well specced in Titanium X trim, good value for money and cheap to run.
Wife has just got a V60 2.0d D3 as a family car/her commuter

Yes you are.
That's a shame, the main reason I ask is because due to parking restrictions where I live if I was to get a car that was 4.4 metres or over then it would have to be parked in a car park that's a 5 minute walk away (not bad) BUT it's only free from 7pm until 8am.Parking on other streets is not an option due to different permit areas
