This, i am sure, has already been asked 100 times, but here goes.

I am looking for a car can seat 4, has Isofix points for a young child and is either fun and chuck-able or fast and imposing.
MPG not an issue, must be RHD.

Budget is £25k and ideally not wanting to go any older than 2010.............. GO !

(current considerations include older 911s, BMW M3, C63 Saloon, Audi S5 )

I'd be going down the AMG route. It's part the reason I bought my CLS63 as if necessary I can put kids in the back.

E/C/CLS63 would all get a thumbs up from me. smile

Actually not a bad shout, though an '08 Granturismo would be a little more appealing.

I must admit, my step-fathers 340I Touring was proper bit of kit, with a lot of hidden potential which the kids in Corsa VXRs etc didn't appreciate until too late.

I'd say get yourself an E/C63 but there are some interesting alternatives that more than worth a test drive.

Alpina B3 S

Holden HSV Clubsport/VXR8

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Insignia VXR Supersport (these are a bit of a performance bargain & a remap sees you comfortably up to around 400bhp)

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Lexus IS-F very good steer & underrated by some.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

4.7 Quattroporte (I'd say go for the 4.7 as there less chance of Cam Variator trouble that the 4.2 suffers from & also you get the ZF auto)

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Polestar V60 (over budget but might be worth taking a look you might decide to stretch the budget)

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

XFR Facelift version (these are great drives & have plenty of space for the family)

Leftfield:

6.1 SRT Grand Cherokee

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

SRT-10 Ram (pre 2010 so probably won't make the cut but worth a click & smile at the madness of it smile )

My personal choice is the Mercedes CL if you want fast & imposing this is it, also even the 4.7TT CL500 with a map will be 500bhp (I know as I have an E500 with the 4.7TT) which would mean it won't be far behind a CL63 but you get a newer car by going for the 500.

Ram seems like a mental choice, but i kind of like mental (maybe just not that mental)
I'd totally overlooked Merc CL's and hadn't realised the CL63 was in my budget, so that's currently up there near the top of the list.
( I have a 2011 ML Grand Edition, so quite like the Mercs of this age )
VXR8, hmmmm. Great cars, tune-able to crazy levels, but i just cant separate myself from the Vauxhall association no matter how hard i try.

AMG Merc of some description is leading the way right now.
