Petrol SUV - XC60 or Disco Sport
Discussion
Hello everyone. I still haven't changed my A6 (was looking about a year ago and other things got in the way) and now I'm looking at the new XC60 or Discovery Sport - with petrol engine. We do around 8-10k per year and I don't want another diesel. Any thoughts? I know they both get great reviews and comfort is more important than performance. Having said that, switching from the V6 I don't want something too weedy! I also intend to lease so I guess will be waiting until some good deals appear. Has anybody got either of these in the petrol versions?
The XC60 T5 is 254bhp, 0-60 in 6.4 secs so doesn't look like it will be too weedy.
Cousin had a Disco Sport and had awful problems with tailgate leaking which dealer couldn't sort out.
Dealer was hopeless. They traded it in for a Disco after a year.
Personally it would be the XC60, new car, latest tech, looks fantastic IMO.

The 2.0T Q5 beat the Stelvio and new XC60 in a CAR magazine giant test recently, they raved about the refinement of the Q5....
My test drives of both an S-Line TFSi Q5 on 19" wheels and a 280 Petrol Stelvio on 20" wheels begged to differ. I found the Q5 ride very uninspiring whilst the Stelvio was superb dynamically and there wasn't as much harshness in the ride as I expected. I personally didn't find the interior of the Q5 to be particularly inspiring either.Importantly SWMBO who had a self-confessed Audi bias (though has never owned or driven one) agreed.
The XC60 interior is stunning, but sadly no dealer within 50 miles seemed bothered about sourcing a T5 demonstrator. My order is in with Alfa.
