Hi Everyone

So after having my heart set and a mk2 Audi TT, my dream was all destroyed today when we tested one and there's no way I can get the two kids in the back. :-(

As I'm not allowed to sell one of them I have to look elsewhere.

Brief run down, have owned roughly 35 cars over the past 35 years of driving, the longest for 3 year (however was out of the country for 7 months of that) so obviously I like to change often, and I have all sorts from Nissan Cheery to Alfa's, imported modified Celicas, to pajeros, Scooby STi, to ford orion, coupes to people carriers etc etc

The past 10 or so years I've bought new or leased, mainly sensible stuff like Golf TDi and GTE, Octavia, Nissan Leaf(i know). However, kids are a bit older, work role is more office based.

The pre requisites for the next car are a bit limiting I guess, but it would be our second car, used mainly for commute and weekends, has to have room in the back!, I like my comforts so would prefer leather, and climate, something quick and a joy to drive on a commute, ideally with good history and not moon mileage. Not fussed about mpg on motorway crunching as it would be a rare occurrence now. oh, and I'm trying to limit myself to 5-6k,

Other than TT's I have looked at;

Calibra (ideal as I've 2 before and loved them, but too long in the tooth to be a daily commuter)
Civic type r (is a potential, but would need to be unmolested)
Mazda 3/6 MPS (nice but VED is mental)
Focus ST (potential also again would need to be standard)
Suzuki swift sport (still unsure of the interior)
Renault megane/clio sport (unsure of the build quality, and comfort level)

Open to any suggestions from fellow PH's

Cheers.

If you liked the TT otherwise, how about the equivalent A3?

I'd guess the S3 is the equivalent?

Just looked at a scirocco, bit more room, so that's on the list now.

Decent S3 are out of the price range as far as I've seen.
