Please Help - 2017 BMW 420D LCI ???
Discussion
First of all, did anyone else here order the BMW 420 D M sport LCI from online brokers such as gateway2lease, centralvehicleleasing etc?
The deals I am talking about is the one's which were pre-reg and in stock vehicles?
Priced at £250+ / 9 months upfront? Deals were available until end of September 2017 ?
So here is my issue .....
Ordered the car - checked off the order form which stated and I quote * BMW 420d M sport Auto LCI * read through spec off the car which was supplied by the broker via email and also on their website.
Signed off the order form and finance docs etc all good so far
Car delivered 1st week of October as pre-reg and previously advised which was fine by me as being 17 plate or 67 plate is not an issue.
Checked car for damage etc when delivered and car was in perfect order so signed delivery acceptance form and sent back to broker.
Car was awesome inside out and loved driving it everyday BUT ......
A few days ago when we had that storm in UK with heavy winds and foggy weather, I drove the car during night and turned on my fog lights...... this is where the problem started .....
Foglights were NOT LED's which are standard for the BMW 4 series LCI model...
Parked the car up and turned on my hazard lights.......
Headlights not LED
Indicators not LED
Tail Lights not the LCI shape.....
and a host of other small tweaks which come as standard with the BMW 4 series LCI model...
cut the story short the car which was delivered was NOT the LCI model which was stated on the order form clearly.
Phoned the leasing company and raised a complaint which they said are currently looking into and would take 3-5 days but could not advise me if I should continue driving the car or not.
Also received an email from complaint handler stating they are still looking into the issue and stated that because I signed the delivery acceptance letter which meant I was happy with the vehicle as being as described.
Also stated vehicle was a pre-reg so might have been registered before the new LCI ( Facelift ) model was introduced
I did some research by phoning BMW dealers and they checked my reg plate and also confirmed the car was not an LCI model - my car was registered on end of April 2017 and LCI models were introduced in April 2017
I pointed out the order form clearly stated LCI which she replied saying there all LCI models ???????? clearly, they don't know what LCI means
Also when I was choosing from the stock list of vehicles they also had the Snapper Rock Blue in stock but would cost extra for the metallic paint BUT this new colour is ONLY available on the LCI models - I went for the Alpine White Paint as didn't really fancy paying extra.
SORRY for the long post but please any advice as to where I stand on this issue would be greatly appreciated.... Thank you

Not to sound harsh or anything but have you seen a BMW 4 series 2017 pre and post facelift ?
they look 99% Identical .. you would need a keen eye to notice the difference
also when you get a car delivered you look for damages like dents and scratches which won't cost you when you return the vehicle at end of contract.
you dont check to see if the steering wheel has extra few buttons ..... if the idrive system is updated.........is the front bumper side vents closed on open....are the headlights led or xenon ......are the fog lights led or not.....are the indictors the new style LED's ....are the rear lights the new shape or not...o.O yes the suspension that's the easiest part to check..
Only reason I noticed all the differences is when i took it to a local BMW dealer and compared it to a LCI shape then you notice the slight changes.
but end of the day what I am asking is the car is delivered not as described on the order form which states LCI

From what you've said the car is not as described in the original advert? Do you have a copy of the advert and order form which states LCI?
The most likely cause is an admin error on the part of the broker - someone's copied and pasted the LCI description on to pre-reg cars which as it turns out were not.
You need to decide what you want and tell the broker. Don't wait for them to come to you, or you'll get nowhere.
Are you legally entitled to return the car? Probably.. The problem is you have a finance agreement with the funder and they didn't misrepresent the car, the broker did. You could return the car but unless you can all agree the funder will come after you for costs and you might have to take the broker to court to recover your costs.
I think you need to be pragmatic and agree appropriate compensation with the broker. Your only real loss is the loss of utility of the additional features of the LCI model for the period of the lease. I'd start at £500 and they waive their fee should you take another car from them after the 4 series. Put this in writing - and state this is the compensation you want or the car goes back due to misrepresentation.

Hi,
I went for the same deal through Select Car Leasing and also in Alpine White. I did a lot of research on the LCI model so I appreciate the differences and was very adamant with my broker to check if it's LCI or not. I was given several assurances that it was but reading this post, I'm now a bit nervous... I get mine delivered in December.
I'm surprised yours is registered in April though. I thought they were all registered July ? How did you check when it was registered?

Thank you for your replies
Yes i do have copies of the quotation which i accepted and the signed order form both of them clearly stating LCI
I have emailed my claim handler with every key point as to why its not as described. I will give them till next week.to come back with an answer.
I checked the car reg with BMW dealership and they checked database as to when it was regesistered. So they had this vehicle in stock since April.......
Now everytime i look at the car i feel pissed off because i clearly stated i wanted the LCI and was told akso by phone its the facelift model when ordering.
Will see what they say but they have no legs to stand on as i have copies of everything stating LCI.

Its Arval
Got invoice today clearly stating its the 2016 model ...whereas I Ordered the LCI model.
Currently broker speaking with dealership to find out whats gone wrong
They are most likely checking to see if they have any LCI in stock to offer me.
If i go the refund path ...it leaves me with no car till i get a new one on lease.

They're clearly in the wrong. However, if it is a generally good deal then I think I'd just ask for some sort of reduction or compensation.
There is little practical difference in the cars and if the deal was competitive when agreed it is competitive today and if they can sweeten it a bit then you're probably onto a winner.
Most of the bumf on the facelift (and it is barely a facelift) is stuff dreamt up by the marketing department to squeeze an extra couple of years out of a model's brochure appeal so not night and day.
They should have supplied what was advertised though, no doubt.

A Little update
Spoke to the lady in charge of my complaint she is currently waiting for the salesperson to get back from, annual leave which will be on 30th Oct before she can check her emails and give me a reply.
Going to wait until 31st Oct then after that not going to wait any longer and will demand I get what I ordered or full refund ( Broker Admin Fees )

Or did you just want to take a dig at someone for having the gall to finance a car?
To be honest, once they get back to me next week, I will see what they have to say but if they can offer me £500 + full dealer maintained contract then I could consider that but it all depends on what they have to say first.
From the feel of things, they don't seem to acknowledge it's not as described and they have made a mistake but I will wait and see.
