what car for work and play?
Discussion
Hi folks,
a what car thread.
So I have itchy feet; I've had my Octavia for 3 years and it's time to change it.
My requirements are:
1) comfy seats; I'm a reasonably large chap and I often do 8 hours in the car in a day, so seat comfort is a good thing. The Octavia only scores "meh" on this
2) The car will be used for work and I might throw it around on a few track days (not fussed about being the fastest guy on track!)
3) Budget is about £10k. Maybe £13k if I'm lucky.
4) need 4 seats as a minimum
5) over 30mpg on a run a major plus
6) quick would be nice
7) availability of some tuning bits would be nice if the mood takes me or if it needs a bit of a fettle to survive a track day.
8) reasonable running costs and reliability are, as always, a plus. For this reason, I would tend to avoid anything with over 100k miles on the clock, but I do realise that this might not be an issue for some.
9) As it's for work I'm afraid it needs to look rather sensible, so no STI Imprezas or whatnot
What I've been thinking about so far:
a) Volvo C30 T5 or maybe D5 with a map
b) Subaru legacy Import 2.0 Turbo
c) BMW 330d or similar
d) Renaultsport Megane
So what else can you make a good case for?
thanks in advance...
