Had a Porsche c4s in the UK. Moved to USA and sold it. Such a mistake. Wife now insists on a suv to feel safe in snow and crappy roads and is intimidated by a Macan. I'm considering an fpace S new with six percent company discount but even still - is a lot for a car I'll find hard to love that'll depreciate like crazy. SQ5 Looks too big. Any other thoughts? Something fun, comfy, nice to actually drive, that I can throw a dog in?

Sorry, I had to! When speaking about SUVs in New Jersey, Tony Soprano immediately springs to mind.

errr....he said an SQ5 is too big! That's probably regarded as a compact SUV in the US.

Ha taking advice offered I'm going to buy a heavy goods vehicle and see how it corners smile 60mph round a hairpin? I'll run it on Michelin pilot sports, what could go wrong? smile

Lot of love for the Volvo's though ... I'll go check em out. So far it's really been the Macan show and something that gets me closer without the wife fear of forty seven buttons is welcome smile

Just seen your post and if you are prepared to go a bit higher on the spec and outlay, I can recommend an SQ7 which is certainly big enough for your family needs ( my wife and kids like it), is very powerful, and if you know Audis, feels very well engineered in true germanic fashion. I have had an RS6 before and this new one doesn’t disappoint! I bought mine on a 3 year CPC plan (Under VW finance) with the option of keeping it with a balloon payment or handing it back with some equity returned to me. All the best with your final decision.
