Found an XC90, spec is good, but it has tan/beige lesthrr seats. Am i going to get lots of blue denim in no time?

Any light leather is at risk of dye transfer. Always make sure new jeans have been washed a few times before you sit on it, and never sit on it with wet denim of any age. There are good dye transfer removal kits out there, EG LTT.
I'm a leather restorer FWIW.

I've got light ivory seats and find that jeans of any age or quality leave marks. I clean them frequently with leather upholstery cleaner and don't allow the stains to build up otherwise they're more difficult to remove.

A bit of effort is required, but not enough to make me not buy a car with light coloured seats.

I have MY18 V40 with the "blond" (very light cream) leather as I dislike dark leather.

Blue denim does rub off on it, but I use a leather wipe (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112591898351) every other month and the seats are as good as new.

Use Gtechniq L1 leather guard. It chemically bonds to the leather to stop dye transfer and wear. Really great stuff and not too expensive.

I took my XM from 60k to 140k, with pale tan leather - mostly wearing jeans. The only mark the leather ever picked up was a bit of red and blue ink from a fish'n'chip bag.

My Z4 Coupe has champagne nappa and it seems to need cleaning with Dr Leather wipes a couple of times per month. The next car I buy will not have light coloured leather.

If you like the car don't let light coloured leather put you off.
I will now avoid dark coloured interiors

I had tan leather in a V60 back in 2012 - it was absolutely fine. It's the lighter (Blond in Volvo-speak) colour I'd watch out for.

Another reason not to buy a car with leather seats. Jeans mark them FFS rofl
