E92 M3 values- what are they doing and where are they going?
Discussion
Been looking at E46 M3s since forever and wondering if Im doing a '996' and missing the boat on good cheap examples.
This got me thinking about the E92 M3- good, sensible miles examples are available around mid-high teens £Ks at the moment. Its the only V8 M3 (waits to be corrected) and I cant help but wonder if that will affect their desirability as time goes on.
Can anyone whos been watching E92 M3 values comment on what they are doing, and share their thoughts on the potential for them to appreciate in the future?
Im wondering if they might be a 'better', more modern alternative to scratch the 996 itch I have...

Most M cars appreciate in time, question is when.
The F M3/4 isn’t universally admired unlike the E46 & E92 which bodes was for E92 values.
As the world shifts to lower capacity turbo’d engines the old school 8’s and NA 6’s will be see as a curio and desired as such.
My view is that they may note appreciate in the short term they won’t depreciate.
safe bet.

Yes, long term I can't see an E92 M3 dropping in value.
It's about the last of the M cars with an engine built specifically for it and no other model in the BMW range, rather than an engine found in other models but just "tweaked" (or mapped) for the "M" application as in the F80.
Or the M135i, M140i, M2, 335i, 340i, Z4 35is or indeed countless others.
Good as they may be, it is a dilution of the "M" heritage.
