Audi A4. £154/mth
Discussion
Friend has just popped round. Usually drives his DB7 V12 or his wife's XC90....but today he was in a 67-plate A4 1.4 150 Sport, just leased as an everyday hack.
6 mths upfront and £154/mth, including VAT for 10,000 miles per year on a 2yr deal, including servicing.
With no tyres/brakes needed in that time, and insurance costing him less than £200 fully comp, that has to be a fixed-cost motoring win in anyone's eyes? 2 years motoring in a brand new A4 for less than £5,000?

They do a 1.4 litre A4 now?
Yes but same power as the old 1.8 (or may be 2.0?) dunno. I said the same thing, but it's still 150bhp, petrol, and he's averaged 48mpg in his 6 weeks & 1,000 miles.

Great deals can be had, there's no denying that. Mine, for example, was 3+23, £208 pm with a £624 initial payment, 8k miles pa, non-maintained. It's a personal lease and that's all including VAT.
However, no amount of money can make up for it's boring character and dull drive. Admittedly, it is completely the wrong car for me, though. So, to be honest, it's probably more of my fault than the car's
I'm sure the car will suit many out, that are after a premium saloon with a small petrol engine. They are a steal for the money. I just honestly can't wait to hand mine back, early next year.

No more/less reliable than anything else VW make. Not as bad as the old TFSI twincharged unit for sure!

Can't argue with that... I wonder how long they will last though.
Indeed. Although in this case, as long as it lasts at least 2yrs and 1 week then the OP's mate doesn't really care.My A4 Avant was 3+23 at £188 a month, 8K per annum non maintained. (inc VAT)
It's a cracking deal, coming to an end in April 2018 though...
Boring, but has been very useful as just finished a large renovation project, and it was used essentially as a van for 6 months! Easily transported 3m drain pipes and a range of other items!

I think it's awful that these kind of deals are available. People will get these cars who can't afford them because all they are looking at is £x a month. They would be far better getting a 2003 V12 Mercedes for £3000.
Am I doing this right?
Why are Audis so popular???Am I doing this right?
You can get a smaller Kia for less...
