I've had my E55 since July but I am soon looking to move it on having done some sums etc. I want something a little cheaper to buy and ultimately run for a few years until after I remortgage.

I like saloon cars but I am not restricted to them but it needs a decent sized boot for runs to the tip. Having 2 cars is not viable as I only tend to use mine at evenings and weekends, and not all the time.

It needs to be pretty quick and have a few toys (cruise / climate/air conditioning are a must).

I've been thinking Vectra VXR / Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8, but I may get tempted to mod them a little too much.

Suggestions?

Just sold the GF's Scirocco 2.0TSi

Bought it for £8k 4 years ago and just sold it for £5k with my phone going off the hook.

Find a well spec'ed 2.0 TSi Scirocco, with the GT pack with a good service history and you should do well.

Spend a bit less get one of these:

If you feel the need to add some upgrades later on down the line (just to stop you from changing before you've remortgaged) wink then you're still in budget.

Same for the VXR:

I'd probably still take the Ford with it's easier running costs but I'd be very tempted by the VXR just make sure you get one that's had the chains replaced.

Thanks chaps. I think I'd like to stick with forced induction where at all possible.

The Mondeo needs the sport bodykit for me.

I still have the E55. Started driving it again this weekend after a month. I'm not so sure about selling it. I love the V8 noise and how it goes. It doesn't have turbo noises or a manual gearbox though.

Sure something like a vectra vxr would be cheaper to run, but.... It's a vectra. They also suffer with heat issues when modified which I would probably want to do. Better the devil you know?
