i think some of the ones posted as good ones are actually quite bad as the posters often talk in terms of % of rrp over the term, with rrp’s in many cases these days coming from a random number generator.

a more sensible measure would be % of market price for new/nearly new. i include nearly new as if you are keeping it for two years it probably doesnt matter much if its done a thousand miles already.

But you're not leasing a nearly new car so the comparison is pointless, if you could get the price to lease a nearly new car then yes.

It's like saying it's cheaper to buy a 10yr old car than a new car..

Impressively bad! What I particularly love there is that the initial rental is more than the car would be if you waltzed into the dealers and paid cash!

What value do you think most people place on a new vs nearly new when the car is not owned and will still be mint and smell new, and they don’t own it? Very little.

Even if I was leasing, I’d would want new

absolutely agree, its a preference. but if someone says a lease deal cost them x% of list price over the term then in (some) cases they are kidding themselves when a nearly new car is many thousands less. unless they personally value the couple or months of prior usage at many thousands of pounds.
