£20k nearly new cars
Discussion
Hi
I’m looking at spending £20k on a nearly new (less than a year old) Audi and taking out pcp.
I bought my last car 4 years ago for cash and managed a pretty decent discount - £16.8k down to £15.5k for a franchise approved used model. I got a similar good deal back in 2007 too.
Just wondering if anyone has more recent experience buying similar cars and what kind of discount I might expect these days (I.e where do I pitch my opening offer!)?
Thanks!

Not this again?!
There is no discount figure. How can there be?
Way too many variables.
You might get £10 knocked off or you might get 10 grand knocked off. Every deal is different and depends on the variables..... How long they've had the car, how keen they are to shift it, how much interest they've had in it blah blah blah...

Lots of Variables.
But £20k can get you a lot of car. My Dad bought a one year old 2016 BMW 320D Xdrive Touring Auto with 2000 Miles on the clock for £20000 from BMW approved used. Just one year before that it was £38000 from the factory! Lost nearly 50% if it’s value in one year!
They all loose 50% of their value every year. That's why I don't want to pay more than £2k for a car.But £20k can get you a lot of car. Check out the price of any nearly new car you look at, against what it can be bought discounted for new. Use the likes of www.drivethedeal.com and www.broadspeed.comI’m looking at spending £20k on a nearly new (less than a year old) Audi and taking out pcp.

Also, Audi are offering 6.0% APR finance on a new A3, but this rises to 11.0% APR on a used one.
The combination of a decent discount and the cheaper rate finance on a new car could make a new car "cheaper"
