Cut a long story short -

26th sept collected new m140 shadow 5 door automatic . Love the car but rattling from roof .

Today 27th after being in the dealer for 3 weeks ( 3rd time of attempting to resolve) advised weld points are weak and can’t be repaired.

1) reject and walk away and find something else, not sure what - had a golf r for 3 years before
2) reject and wait for a new m140 from factory could be Feb /March time

Current deal was matching trl and drive the deal prices

£1750 deposit and £336 a month over 3 years 10 k annual mileage and had front parking sensors folding Mirrors and rear camera.

Never rejected a car and feel gutted . The service manager rang and asked what I want to do - in a bit of a dilemma .

Anyone done this ? If I wait for a new m140 what should I ask for ,

Refund on monthly payments so far, a replacement car until it arrives ?

Appreciate any advice given

If you reject and wait I can't see them providing a temp car until it arrives.
It's not their fault you want a car that's not out yet.

However I would expect no financial loss to yourself so no charge when it was in the garage.

Not sure about the deposit.

weak welds must be a safety issue, reject the car with the expectation that they will but you in a loan car till the replacement arrives. If this is the real issue they should be bending over backwards to fix things

That’s my thoughts , what about the current finance deal - my expectation is a full refund for original vehicle and fianance settled ? A loan car until then new one is ready then start again with the Finance.

There might be another m140i somewhere in the country that they could swap you into?

Otherwise, I'd insist on a loaner for a few months until you get a new one delivered.

Miraculously it’s now being sent to another dealer to fix . They have also Brought up the fact the vehicle has been coded for folding Mirrors , alarm chirp etc and that I might not be able to reject the car as it’s not standard - what planet are these people on
