S3 or M1/240i ?
Discussion
Trying to decide which to get, just looking for general opinions, why you’d choose which. I haven’t included the Golf R because for me it doesn’t look great both inside and out, and when I took a GTI out, it felt as though the interior had been put together by a child. Focus RS is ruled out because I would prefer an automatic (it will be a daily) and I think it looks a little childish.
Open to suggestions, Thanks.

I was trying to decide between the S3 and M135i this time last year. I went with the BMW and no regrets! It's a rare breed being RWD with a 6-cylinder and to me offered much more character than the Audi. Having had an S5 before I find the M135i much more fun and entertaining to drive. Only advantage of the Audi really is the extra traction from the Quattro.
Also whichever you choose Auto definitely suits these cars best

Slightly bias as an M135i owner but I'd say the Mx40i is a better bet.
The straight six engine is lovely and having a RWD chassis is great fun.
Next generation of the 1 series looks like it'll be front wheel drive as well, which should keep the values of F20/F21 cars up for a little while. Can get decent PCP deals on the M140i Shadow Edition at the minute as well.

9,000 miles done in my M140i (auto, 5 dr)since I picked it up in March. No regrets at all. Quick, smooth, comfortable, good to drive, well screwed together, and makes a great noise. My biggest gripe is the thimble-like fuel tank which struggles to give you a sensible touring range of much more than about 300 miles. But it's a minor issue overall. I love the car.
