Looking at the URL of an advert on AutoTrader I notice the following example in it...

201712111976530

... and I was wondering if this can be used as a date stamp for when the car was first advertised?

So using the above we'd have...

11/12/2017

... using a dd/mm/yyyy format? Is my assumption correct?

The first eight numbers represent when the ad went live.

YYYYMMDD

Good to have a second opinion confirming this, thanks.

Too right.

My weekend didn't go as expected, v. busy, and I had a text yesterday asking if I was still interested in a private sale car. Now I know it was advertised at the start of November 2017 I've got leverage if I do go and see it smile
