As the title: budget up to £5k. Needs to haul 1500kg.

Please, no Land Rover/Range Rover suggestions - I want to get home not via the AA smile

Ty in advance

MPVs such as the Alhambra will tow 1500kg.

Ours used to be a superb tow vehicle. We had a 1500kg caravan.

I wouldn't dream of recommending a Range Rover... They can tow TWICE the weight you need to drag. hehe

Suggestion-wise, how about these:

- Skoda Octavia/Superb
- Volvo V70
- BMW 3/5-Series
- Audi A4/A6

All of the above will happily tow 1,500kg (depending on the engine size), and for £5k, none of these will be sheddy.

Perhaps a 2.2 tdci Mondeo. That must be up around that sort of towing capacity and there are plenty to choose from.

I used to drive S2 was S3 in the army. Base of my spine never forgave me. Years later i bought one of the last RR Classics. Electrics blew during its first rain outing; i sold it 6 months later having had it laid up in the LR /RR garage for 3 of those months whilst they rebuilt the elections under warranty.

THEN....1 year after the RR disaster, I bought a 110 with a td5....URGHHHHHH....sold that puppy 6 months later and swore Id never buy any of them again. And i haven't.
