Anyone have a Subaru diesel? Experiences

Hi

Four months into my motorway commuter car search, I keep itching to get another Subaru. I used to have a 2.5 petrol Legacy that I used to put 24K miles in a year, lovely car and not bad economically if driven like a granny.
However, the Subaru ith has started again, looked BMW estates, Mercs, Hondas, so in a nutshell, anyone owned a Legacy diesal from 2008-2013 range? Any issues , engine wise and any positives would be welcome information.

Have had 2011 Forester diesel since new!
Only had one problem with it, the dreaded glow plug issue!
Don't believe the horror stories that circulate regarding this repair.
Took mine to a Subaru dealer they replaced two glow plugs and the fuses for around £300, nowhere near the £1000's you read about.
Other than that no problems at all, returns over 40mpg on the motorway, seen 50+mpg when pootling.
Huge carrying capacity, for camping etc, especially if there's just two of you, comfy seats as well.
AWD is great in snow and mud, saved the day more than once for me.
Great car, no intention of getting rid, will drive it into the ground!

Ha we are doing the glowplugs on one tomorrow, well the 4 glowplugs the relay and the 50amp fuse its blow, the glowplugs are £90 each including VAT from subaru.

A friend had a 2008 legacy estate from very nearly new. Had to fit new engine after about 4-5 years. Then the replacement started to conk out. Overall it cost him a fortune. Now has a Skoda yeti

I had a 2008 outback from 2 years old. At 69k miles it started to lose power so I got rid sharpish

The diesels are made of even softer chocolate than the patrols I believe!
