OK the definitive answer is to phone them, which I will, however just wanted to canvass any experience in advance

My BMW leased through Alphabet goes back soon at the end of the 2y term

Its on variable servicing however needs a fixed oil change only at 2y

The issue I have is that the car is displaying that it needs this in "March 2018" rather than giving a specific date

If anyone knows how this will play out from their own experience before I speak to Alphabet Id be very grateful

End of contract is the 16th and the cost of the service will be about a months rental

If they insist its serviced then presumably I can just arrange to give it back 17 days earlier and take the (modest) rental penalty??

Cheers

Not a definite answer as I guess all lease companies are different.

But, based on the conversations I had with Arval and VWFS over this with our two vehicles they basically said as long as the service indicator isn't showing when they inspect the car then it's ok but if the indicator is on then I will need to have it serviced.

I'm with VW/AUDI FS and the A4 starts a 1000m countdown to service, does that mean the indicator is on or just when it gets to the service now?

Good question. I don't know but I would strongly argue that the service isn't due until the countdown is 0. Best double check what it says in the paperwork and ring when it doesn't mention anything.

You should also check what the penalty charge is for a missed service, as it may be cheaper to pay the charge than actually pay for a service.
