New Hyundai i30 N Would you

Getting itchy feet and our current car (BMW 1 Series) is soon to be out of manufacturers warranty which although tempted to keep beyond this we might start looking at our options. Considering something like a Golf GTi next as the current car is a diesel and we want something with a little more umpth, plus modern petrol engines can be pretty frugal when required driven sensibly.
I've read up on this new i30 N and most reviews say it's a good contender and one not to be missed. Knowing its Hyundai first stab at the hot hatch market would you take the risk yourself?
Given we could walk yo to VW and buy a pre reg Golf GTi for similar money this is new.
I know they're both hot-hatches, but they are different takes on the segment. The Golf GTI is the perfect daily and usable iteration, whereas the i30N is more of a precision driving tool.
It really depends what you're after. Some people don't need any more than the Golf offers. For others, it's simply not enough.

We have considered another 1 series but the 140i M model, but having had one for 3 years now we fancy a bit of a change so the Golf being its natural competitor this seems logical (odd I never see the S3 as this) It really depends what you're after. Some people don't need any more than the Golf offers. For others, it's simply not enough.
Does anyone know if the Hyundai will be coming in auto or just manual?

Hyundai will be manual only, i believe. No word on an auto option but i doubt it will be offered.

If no auto then I think this may be a challenge, we both love the auto box on the current car and would have to be a seriously good car for us to go back to manual. Using the NCP M25 a lot auto makes a huge difference. Hyundai will be manual only, i believe. No word on an auto option but i doubt it will be offered.

A GTI with the DSG would be perfect for me. I think it's all the car i'd really need and i wouldn't be itching for what the R offers.
