I deliberate over cars a lot. I literally want to try every car out there.

With this in mind the wife and I were talking last night about me wanting a new car. This normally annoys her lol. I've been given approval to get an F10 M5. Question is, is it really worth it over my W211 E55? My E55 has 520 bhp and to get it to over 600 bhp would cost me a few more grand. On top of the purchase price I would have less than £13k in it. An M5 with a warranty from BMW is in the mid £20k range.

I know I need to drive an M5 to make sure I like it, but I am starting to wonder if I am getting a faster car and a better car if I replaced my E55 with one. I've seen people who now own W212 E63's after owning an E55 and regret selling it.

Has anyone had an E55 and then an F10 M5? What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Keep the 55.

That engine coupled with the Super Charger is lovely.

If you want to up the power visit MSL for some performance mods.

I've driven a few F10 M5's, they are nice, comfortable and quick, but big. I've also driven a few C63 Mercs and I would pick one every time. The engine is perfect. Keep the E55

Test drive one as you now have an itch to scratch but I think you'll end up keeping the E55, while you're out doing test drives try the 5.5TT E63.

The engine isn't as sweet as the N/A 6.2 but I know your love for forced induction & the fact that 700bhp is a little tickle of work away may make it appeal.

I still say keep the E55 smile

E55 AMG assuming it has no rust. The M5 is a nice car but in terms of performance over the E55 is it really worth sinking thousands into ?

Thanks.

TBH if I kept with an amg then I would probably look at something a little younger with less miles on it, possibly a cls55.

I've wanted an f10 for a few years. I wasn't expecting to be in this position so soon.

I couldn't go back to N/a, any car needs to be supercharged or turbocharged.
