Help me choose.
Discussion
Hi guys and gals!
I seek your guidance in choosing between two cars I've wanted for a long time now and can finally afford.
I am looking to buy my next japanese performance car to fill in the hole that selling my s13 and toyota soarer has left in my heart and have narrowed down the selection of my next vehicle to these two cars:
The Nissan Skyline R33 and the Mazda RX-7 FD3S. I know these cars are very different both mechanically and in character, but I do have the mechanical know-how to keep either one running and both of them are very tempting in their own ways.
I would be using the car primarily for daily commuting to work and back but I'm not expecting to rack up any ridiculous mileage on it annually. I know many won't approve of dailying either of these cars but after using a more normal car for commuting for a couple of years now I can say I would much rather sacrifice some comfort a newer, less exciting car would offer and drive something I truly love and enjoy. I did daily my s13 and soarer and loved every minute of it.
I have had the pleasure to actually drive a few r33's, both the gts-t and gtr, and love how sturdy the car feels on the road and the general feel of the car (sounds, handling etc) is awesome. Also this car has been given the thumbs up by my gf (important choosing factor as she will be riding in the car too). I unfortunately have only seen and sat in a RX-7 and have not driven one or rode in one yet, but I love the looks of the car and have heard the handling is great. And even after countless hours put into learning as much as I can about the notorious rotary engine I still would love to own one. I do know that it would be more nimble than the r33 and definitely less practical in comparison as they are very different cars.
So, basically, do I go for the safer choice of the R33 that I know much better or do I choose the more risky RX-7 that I do not have first hand experience of but do still find very appealing after considering pros and cons of both? These cars are getting older by the day and after choosing one I might not get a similar chance to own the other in the future.

I guess I could always just get one and switch to a skyline if I end up not liking it.
