Best £60k daily with ability to carry kids
Discussion
I’ve had quite a number of cars and am struggling to pick a new daily. I want something thats upto 3 years old that I can take out my 7 and 10 year old in that feels and drives like a sportscar.
I’ve got an amg c63s cabriolet and its quick but wheelspins everywhere and handles like a large saloon and the steering is somewhat unconnected.
I had a porsche 964 c2 which I loved but it is no longer practical for the children - any other ideas up to £60k ???

M5 (...with black seats in your case)
It feels like a big luxury car when you have your wife and children in the car, and then at the press of a few buttons (or the press of one button if you've stored it in memory), it turns into a hardened high performance grand tourer.
The accelerator pedal has 3 different settings of [Efficient, Sport, Sport+]
Suspension and Steering each have a selection between [Comfort, Sport, Sport+] (i.e. you could have steering in comfort and suspension in Sport+ if you so wish)
Gearbox has 3 gearshift intensity modes for Automatic mode, and 3 intensity modes for Manual mode
Stability control has 3 modes: Fully on, 'M-Dynamic mode', and 'off'
In other words, you can really personalise it and store it in two different memory buttons on the steering wheel.
EDIT: This also applies to the BMW M6 4-door Gran Coupe

Macan Turbo is suprisingly fun.
Good shout but i’d suggest a Macan GTS is very good too and possibly easier on the budget.Always pleasantly surprised just how good they are on the rare occasions I get to drive “ours”.
Ok, so some explanation
I wanted something new ish as crash protection improves every year, having had relies in bad car crashes I would like something up to date - as you stand a better chance of smaller injuries.
I asked the question as I wanted to see what other suggestions people had to see if I’ve missed something
Ok so to the list:
Alfa stelvio ( probably out of budget)
911 (rear seats too small - I took the kids down to the dealership and got them to sit in it)
Audi - sorry can’t drive one the image is not me - sorry audi drivers
Ford mustang i loved but the crash tests particularly for rear passengers are catastrophic
C63 - thats the current car and is ruled out by the steering- and no i dont need driving lessons even with the traction on it still spins the tyres...
Leaving my favourites from suggestions
Jaguar - had not considered
Alfa giulia
Porsche macan
M2
Bmw m5
Gt83
Anyone driven them? Are any of the sportscar like in the steering dept?

We had a Macan GTS as a family bus, they are lovely to drive, but not a sportscar. Doesn't fit in most parking spaces so we ended up buying a shopping car. Low depreciation, we bought brand new and only lost three grand when we sold it.Leaving my favourites from suggestions

I liked it for many reasons, thought it'd work as a family car and a sports car for me, but sadly it still felt like driving an SUV.
From the above list I'd suggest the M2 if the kids fit in the back.
I've not driven a late M5 but I'm sure that'd be very good if the M2 wasn't big enough.

This won’t be popular... but while the M5 was insanely fast, I found it quite boring. I didn’t expect that. I suppose it’s just a 5 series at the end of the day.It feels like a big luxury car when you have your wife and children in the car, and then at the press of a few buttons (or the press of one button if you've stored it in memory), it turns into a hardened high performance grand tourer.

The Macan on the other hand massively exceeds expectations. Not insanely fast, but plenty fast enough and surprisingly satisfying to rag through the gears in sports mode.
