Buying a car that has spent time abroad, no MOT history
Discussion
Hi guys,
I'm looking at a 2004 VW T5 at the moment with 140k.
I have checked the (personalised) numberplate on the DVLA website and it only shows MOT history since Feb 2017 / 122k.
According to the seller, the car has spent time in Ireland prior to him purchasing it, hence the missing information. He claims that he has a folder full of paperwork, but hasn't been very forthcoming with details.
I bought a Cazana gold vehicle check which didn't say much interesting, other than the van was registered in 2004 and had not been either imported or exported. It also gave me the previous numberplate, which presumably was the one it had from new.
Are there any ways, or online services, that can fill in the blanks in the van's history? I am mostly interested in the mileage because many other vans of this year are much higher.
