I've recently decided I dont want to drive expensive modern diesel luxo-barges any more, and find myself lusting after 7 series from early to mid 2000's. I currently do 20k a year which has driven the buying decisions, but my new plan is to start getting the train into work, which is actually quicker, and buy an old V8 7 series. With not relying on the car so much for work, and doing far less mileage, both economy and reliability are less of a factor. Are these E65s still a good buy at 12-15 years old and 100k or so miles? Would probably only be doing 6k a year. Seems a lot of car for £3000-£6000

Another option is the A8, unfortunately I find the mercs and jags from the same period a bit dated. Looked at Lexus too but they don't really float my boat either.
