Currently driving a VW T5.1 camper.

Bought it for general family duties (3 kids - 8, 5 and 11 months now) and for using to tow my caterham and somewhere to sit/camp at events etc.

However, Caterham now replaced with Ginetta G40R that I plan to drive to/from track as this is something I have missed when trailering. Also, my daily mileage is away to jump up from around 20mile round trip to 50mile round trip with traffic. Not massive miles by any stretch but would still like something a little better on fuel. Also, with the alternative use likely to be less, it makes a little less sense now. Although I still like the fact it's cool to look at and fantastic residuals. Just not a car to drive unfortunately.

Option of swapping with the wife not suitable as youngest on oxygen 24/7 for now and the foreseeable and the rear bench is too far back for her to see he's ok in his seat etc unless she happens to have our eldest in the back to keep an eye on him.

Obvious choice is an other people carrier (slightly bigger than the wife's) and that can take on family duties and I use hers to/from work and run it into the ground. However, I was also wondering if there were any estates that could fit the bill of a nice commuter for me and still manage to accommodate us all if needed. have searched and searched and most point to MPV but with our eldest able to go on backless booster I wondered if that opened up more options?

1 rear facing, 1 booster (with back) and one backless booster possible.

I like the merc e Class for example or 5 series.

Would be nice to sell the camper and put a bit of cash in the bank and also limit depreciation hit so was thinking budget of 10-15k.

Cheers,

Dave

2009 Honda FRV; i saw one with 25k on the clock £6.5k. 6 seater, 3+3. Big boot. Great mpg from the thought 2.2 CDTI.

I had one for a few years, underrated car.

The only issue I found was the front seat squabs are quite short which resulted in poor under-thigh support.

Thanks for the suggestion guys.

Was kind of hoping someone would come back and with possible estate cars that will fit 3 in the back using a backless booster for the eldest to save me having to get a people carrier 😂

Cheers,

Dave
