Considering a higher mileage newer car & potentially a remap
Discussion
Ok so as I need a car for about a year to 18 months and will do 15/20k in that time (mostly motorway though some country lanes) Ive been looking at the following cars, up to about £10k.
Ive started looking at slightly higher mileage cars as well as a few wildcards. Im also not totally convinced on diesel, i just generally dont like it. I would like an average of 35mpg or more if possible. Im also a fan of remapping my cars, and certain BMW models the increases are crazy. Most of the time im on the motorway back and to to work, and at weekends it will mostly be parked up as we will use the mrs car unless we are doing different things. I want a car that can be comfy and relaxing but also moves a bit should i want to make progress. Im quite a fan of the ZF8 speed. Also, my driveway is a decent size but not the widest without parking with one wheel on the grass, so maybe a modern 5 series would just fit, i had an e39 5 series and that was basically the width of the drive.
Any thoughts or (constructive) comments on the specific cars below appreciated.
2013 F30 BMW 320d auto with around 90k, remap from 184 to 220bhp, something like this http://bit.ly/2nMgE9b
2013 E82 BMW 120d Coupe auto - Advertised as step auto but would this be ZF 8 speed as it has the paddles and is a 2013 car? remap from 184 to 210bhp http://bit.ly/2BO22ic
2013 E89 BMW Z4 2.0 20i sdrive auto - these remap from 184bhp to 260bhp - I can imagine that would be handy and fun - http://bit.ly/2FXzTmC
2011 F11 BMW 520d SE Touring auto - big comfy barge, remap from 184 to 220bhp http://bit.ly/2GZkrrt
2013 F20 BMW 125i remaps from 218bhp to a decent 290bhp! http://bit.ly/2Ebae9M
and finally:
2014 F21 BMW 116i - newer and remaps from 136bhp to 210bhp. http://bit.ly/2C40yMu
Thanks!
