Leasing has done me well but I do too many miles now to make it viable.

So a bank loan it is. I have 8k to find something that’ll last 5 years and between 70-120,000 miles.

A Toyota Auris or similar would be perfect, if it weren’t so dull.

I’d like something reasonably fun, and a nice place to sit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

My dad gets a loan every five years for around the same amount and buys a car, usually a mondeo. Seems to work well.

You haven’t given us much to go on but here are my suggestions:

Fiesta 1.0 eco boost. Quick enough and refined enough, cheap on bits, nice to drive

Corsa VXR. Quick, good fun, cheap bits

Mondeo or insignia

Peugeot 308 1.2 turbo, nice motor and lots of kit

Mercedes C220 CDI, reliable and a bit of comfort

Astra GTC

Handles well and is more refined that most cars that size, I find the SRi seats to be incredibly comfortable

Sandero Ambience TCe90 £7995 OTR.

It has decent enough spec above the base Access model and it goes well, it's probably the fastest most spacious and comfortable new car you can buy at anything like the price.

Second Seat Leon. We went for the 1.8mm FR as it has a bit more poke but fits a nice balance

Good call that. Very reliable and something a bit more interesting. Just make sure it's an auto, as it's better on fuel and the manual is supposed to be pretty crap. I've heard that they're also pretty decent on fuel for a N/A 2.5 V6.

Thank you for all of your replies!

Sadly I was told Friday that I’m being made redundant... which means budget for new car has dropped massively!

New thread on the way....
