Hello,

I bought a car which i'm picking up tomorrow but i've not been given a V5C/2 supplement from the dealership yet. When I got my first car from Evan Halshaw I was given the V5C/2 the following day I bought the car (3 day wait for pick up) but with Vauxhall it's been 6 days and still not been given one.

If they've forgotten, how quick and easy is it for them to give me one tomorrow so I can tax the car? Like, do they have the forms at hand for them to fill out and such to hand over to me? I've never done a part exchange before and finding everything I need has been a nightmare, such as MOT cert, V5C which is missing -- therefore have to send off for a replacement. Lucky they said they will still do the swop tomorrow, they will just keep the spare key until I bring in the V5C.

Anyways, any help would be highly appreciated

Kind Regards

The V5C/2 is part of the V5, you’ll get it on the day you collect the car

If they don't have it, it'll be impossible to hand over.

It's not a blank that they fill in. It's a part of the old V5C.

Sorry, that's for the car you're getting shot of, or for this one?

If the V5C/2 can't be handed over, you'll need to tax it on a V62 and pay £25, or wait until your V5C comes through.

When my mum collected her car from Evans Halshaw in September they taxed the car for her whilst the final paperwork was carried out

Dealers normally tax it for you.

...using the V5C/2 number... Not a great help if some numpty's managed to lose something as important as the old V5C.
