Are the scrappage deals any good?
Discussion
I have just used the ford scrappage scheme, got a cracking deal on a new Fiesta
£2k discount on retail price
£1.5k scrappage for a '99 Clio
0% PCP for 2 years
Local dealer matched a Drivethedeal price but without the 18 week wait for a factory build.
Didn't think they'd stack the deals, but they did :-)
Cheers

As above - are these just a manipulation of discounts already available as they're manufacturer driven or has anyone actually obtained a good deal using the scrappage 'incentive'?
I would previously have said "no", however a friend of mine just got a genuine £2,000 scrappage allowance off a new MINI 1499GTList price £16,950, £2,000 discount off from the dealer, a further £2,000 discount from BMW / MINI and hes in to a brand new 1499GT for £12,950 on the road. Traded in the worlds s
ttiest Alhambra that was going to the scrapyard anyway to get the scrappage.Recently bought an Audi using their scrappage deal. The manufacturers deposit contribution could not be used in conjunction with the deal but dependant on the model it was still a decent saving on top of the usual discount. Made enquiry via car wow and got approx 7.5k off a q5 or 3k extra without scrappage. Not a bad return for a 17 year old golf!
