Crossover/SUV Ideas
Discussion
My uncle and aunt are looking to replace their current car in the near future and their non-negotiable list of requirements for the replacement are:
- New or Nearly New
- Crossover/SUV styling
- Increased ride height
- 2WD ideally
- Petrol engine, max of 2.0 and 4cyl.
- Automatic gearbox
- Well built/quality materials
- Nice Spec (Xenons, Cruise, Sat Nav, Heated Seats ideally)
- Realistic running costs and road tax (no high RFL band cars)
They have been looking at the VW Tiguan and Kia Sportage so far, to give you a steer on where they'd like to be on size and spend. I really rate the Tiguan so I am struggling to see many other options to recommend to them, although I had possibly thought that a Ford Kuga might be an option too?

Pretty much sounds like any German SUV, the tiguan, karoq, ateca are all very similar.
Kuga's are a nice place to sit (in my very brief experience) but i think they are quite pricey.
as a curve ball i saw a new Mitsubishi Eclipse today and it looked very smart. don't overlook the Koreans you've mentioned the Kia but don't forget Hyundai. some of the Ssangyongs are getting good too.

If it is just the styling they want, they don't need to get a suv.-ride height

This has everything on the list
Peugeot 3008 SUV 1.2 PureTech (130bhp) GT Line (s/s) EAT6

I'm pretty sure this has LED headlights, which I can recommend if you ever drive around lanes at night.
You would need to decide yourself about the build quality though.
I went to look at a Kia thinking it was perfect after reading reviews, until I got inside. It felt like the material on the seats didn't quite fit.

How about a Qashqai - they seem to be all over town, so must be doing something right?
This is down to motability doing them pretty much free of charge to customers.
t. Not the reliability you’ve come to expect from a Nissan, cheatiest diesel on the emissions, flaccid drive...Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
