Audi R8 or Aston V8 Vantage

Over the next 12 months I’m wanting to get a usable every day sports car. It will be a 2nd car but I intend to use it regular, so maybe 4 days a week when I’m not doing the kid run and it’s just me (or only 1 kid) I will use it for going to work or just popping to the shops.

Certainly won’t be a garage queen, though I will maintain it properly with FPSH or FAMSH and keep it nice and clean and accept that I will probably pick up a few parking dings and get them sorted maybe once a year.

What would you get? Audi R8 (V8) or Aston Martin V8 Vantage? Budget is about £45k, will have a healthy running budget but ideally in 5 years time would like to hold its value as much as possible. So all things being equal, which would you go for and why? Consider running costs and depreciation over 5 years as a part of your consideration (I know no one knows the future, but can’t see either losing loads if I keep to maybe 3,000 miles a year).

They are very different cars - not least because the Vantage isn't a sports car.
If you want a sports car, the R8 is the better choice.

But the Vantage is a lovely thing.

Pretty sure someone will be around soon to talk about the Audi. As a sports car I would want the Audi, but only as a manual V10. That is money being no object of course.
