Missus has a 54 plate golf on its last legs so looking for something newish.
I've reckon about 12k is the budget, i want (yes me) something i'll be able to find cheap sourced parts and repair on! Golf has served us ok, with only alternators going as a major component. Lasting the long haul again is key.
I've seen on AT a helluva lot of IX35's in this price, but really not sure on them, inside looks very minimal and tacky.
Help appreciated.

I'd say go for a Ford Kuga in Titanium X spec, they're very good cars & parts prices are sensible.

All of the above are very good SUV's spec wise they're all loaded I'd go for the Ford but all are decent so only test drives will make up your mind for you.
With regard to IX35 type SUV's you'd be better off with a normal sized Focus type of car.
