Hi everyone,

As has been pinned and mentioned at the top of the forum what car? has started doing new car deals.

I'm currently in the process of looking to buy a new car (maybe Q5 or X3) and wanted to get some ideas/help with doing this.
I wanted to find out and hopefully you can help with the following questions I have:

  • Has anyone used what car deal finder to buy a new car? or at least tried, and have you guys ever thought of using them?
  • What's the best way of buying a new car and what do you guys normally do?
Any help would be useful, as I wanted to try to use what car? as they have some good deals, but I don't know many people who have used it and it doesn't seem to be a poplar thing atm so wanted to find out before hand...

Thanks in advance, really appreciate it!! biggrin

Cheers,

haha I don't work for them wink I'm in a completely different industry for work. But funny you say that...

So any experiences or with similar companies like carw@w etc...? I've used drive the de@l before, but they are more of a broker.

I used carwow for my mums tiguan, was around the same price as broadspeed but they are a broker and carwow you get the normal dealer experience so it's a little better I guess. Works quite well

Because of price? I tried them out, but didn't like that I had to give my details and wait for deals to come through. (I didn't use my real details, so maybe that's why I didn't get good/many offers come through.

The dealers don't get your details, only carwow does. They only get the spec details, and you only need to give postcode and email address and name - hardly any bank account details etc

I used CarWow to buy my most recent car (an e-golf). One of the offers on there was £1500 better than any of the others and miles better than my local dealer. I would usethem again.

Haven't heard of broadspeed will need to check them out.

As I wrote above I don't like the fact I have to give my details to carwow. I don't want the dealers to start contacting me and selling when I'm just researching. That's why I liked the idea of the what car option as I got to see the discount price and which dealer gave it (Audi hull gave the best price 8.7% discount) so I can now contact them directly! And don't even have to carry on using the what car element giving my details and stuff. But maybe carwow would give a better price.

Ah really? OK I guess the best thing is to check them out and compare them both.

Yep all the dealers will do is give a price and an "introductory" message on the carwow website and you'll get an email from carwow (not the dealer) if and when you get offers back from them. Then you just go on the carwow website and look through the prices etc - the dealers can't contact you personally in any way
