PCP starting before car ready for delivery
Discussion
Brother and I bought the same car from a dealer, registered last week to get manufacturers contribution. We were told there would be no lead in time as they were just coming from a depot elsewhere in England, but now it transpires mine is on a boat and there is no expected delivery date...
My brothers arrived at the dealer yesterday but won't be prepped till next week and therefore collected next weekend.
However he has had emails from the finance company suggesting his PCP started on Thursday. Surely it shouldn't start (along with payments) until car has been collected? Are we getting messed about?
The dealer has went from very friendly until we bought it and now is dodging calls and when we do get them they can't tell us anything.

First payment generally won't go out until 1 calendar month after you signed the docs.
This has been caused by trying to get everything done as a March deal for the benefit of all concerned. Dealer will have been auto debitted for the car when he registered it so obviously he wants to be paid for it by the finance company.
If it's still going to be a while before you get the car then it's only the finance company who can do anything to change it. Give them a call and explain that you haven't actually taken delivery yet - indeed the car is not available for delivery - and see what they can do to help.
