First Car Options

As you can all see I'm a long time lurker on PH and this is one of my first posts so hello to all. Right now I'm looking for my first car and have got a few cars in mind but I wanted to get some advice. Due to a change in circumstances I'll be driving into university next academic year (September) which therefore means I need a car. I'll be doing about 10-12K a year and am looking for something I won't get shafted on for insurance. So far the list is:
Suzuki Swift 1.3
Citroen C2 1.4
Renualt Twingo 1.2
All of these massively PH cars are around £1400-1800 to insure (Swift is the cheapest). I've also looked at the usual suspects like the Corsa, Fiesta etc but they are generally a bit more pricey to insure. I'm looking to spend around £2K on the car but the cheaper the better as I'm a skint university student.
So out of these options which would be best and are there any other suggestions?
