I've been looking at a few VW Polos the Kia Venga and the Hyundai I20 all 2013/14 models. I'm wanting something around this size and have been checking out a few websites.

Are any of these models prone to any issues/problems and should be avoided or is there anything else that would be useful to know as I look?.

Not interested in french/US manufacturers.

Strangely there aren’t as many Kia Vengas on the go as I expected and personally they look a bit overpriced unless I’m missing something.

I’d go with the Polo all day wrong, the advert for that year of Polo was all about the cars build and how robust it was, it really is, the doors give a pretty reassuring clunk on closing.

You’ll be top of your price range on the polo but will be worth it IMO.

The i20s have had a pretty poor reliability report going by some reviews.....

I'd have a look at ford fiesta as well - best car to drive in class

I haven't seen the kia rio 3 before I'll have to have a look into that, I'm not interested in french cars as they seem to be fairly unreliable from what I've read.

Are there likely to be any expected price drops moving into the 2nd half of the year? I have quite a few issues with my current 2001 fiesta but the engine itself seems fine and likely to be able to last for quite a while.

I've noticed a lot of polos only coming with 60bhp which would seem to be quite sluggish, the 75-90 ones seem fairly rare.

If you're looking at Polo's it's probably worth looking at the Fabia and the Seat Ibiza as well, you tend to get a bit more for your money than with VW but possibly with a slightly cheaper feeling interior.

Are the skoda + seat cars as comfortable to drive in? I tend to get aches and pains in my current car after an hour or so. I do around 650 miles each week so spend quite a bit of time sat down.
