Moment of madness or clarity? Just test drove an xf

Yeah so my plan was to replace my a4 for an suv. Probably a Range Rover. I live in the country and wanted the ride height and size for the seating position.also, the weather and terrible and the country roads. P.O. holed. Winters have been bad and I often have to go up on verges to let people past. I also just fancy one too I course. Don’t need one though have more use than most these days.
Anyway, I was checking out the overpriced fpaces on autotrader when I came accross a lovely looking 2016 xf diesel v6 s with 7k of options inc in touch pro, Pan roof, 18 way seats, leather steering wheel. It was 57k new and now can be mine for a meer 26500.
I figured I would just drive it to see and found the ride even smoother than the rrs or the velar with air suspension. On top of this It handles better than my a4 sline, looks great and the best part is it’s cheap. Relatively anyway.
Bare in mind I’m just looking for a 3 year car here but with 5k deposit it’s just 350pm compared to more like 600-800 for either Range Rover. I don’t think you can get a much better car for that price tbh.
It all comes down to that massive depreciation on big saloons and that those 7k of lovely options are basically free. The silky smooth v6 has 700nm!
But I wasn’t planning on a rear wheel drive saloon. It was to be a luxury suv......
