Cheap eBay cars and seller with @nhsy.co.uk email address

I just wanted to warn you all about a scam that I just dodged.

I was recently looking at Porsche 911 Carrera's on eBay. One came up that looked in good condition with low miles for a few grand under the normal price range. This immediately set my spidey senses tingling, but the seller had good feedback, was a dealer and had around 50 other cars listed for sale.

So I contacted him.

While waiting for a reply the listing got pulled, so I assumed that someone had got in before me and snapped up a good deal. However a day later I get an email direct from the seller saying that the auction just expired and the car was still for sale.

The only catch...the car was his personal car, and he lives in the IOW, so the car was there with him.

He offers me the following options:

" * The first option is to use a transport company that deals with the transaction, vehicle and the money as escrow. I travel for my work and I do not have time to bring the vehicle and I think your free time is limited too, so this is the perfect way to make things easier, fast and safe for both of us. I will pay the company, so you will not pay extra money then the vehicle price. You will get the vehicle to your home address, and you can check the vehicle before making the final decision. I think this is the perfect way for us.

The offer of having the car transported to me for me to look over and then decide if I want to buy it sounds almost too good to be true, and it is.

I go and check out his email domain "nhsy.co.uk" and there is no website there, it was only registered mid last year and Google have this facebook post as the top result:

"IMPORTANT - PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! Our Ebay Motors Account was hacked last night and none of the vehicles listed belong to us. This is a SCAM. We urge people not to make any payments to [e-mail]. Please visit our website for genuine cars we have in ..."

It probably won't be on google for long though as it seems the message has since been removed.

So be warned!

The same thing has just happened to me

Same strange email address

Car for sale much cheaper than it should be

Dealer with a large list of cars

The moment I messaged him, the car disappeared from eBay

Following that, all of the cars are off his eBay page

I then got a private message from him saying the car is still for sale

This morning i got a strange email from Google saying my gmail had been compromised and if it hadn't been for the 2 step authentication I would have been hacked as well!

Various forms of @nhsy email address scams have been around for a while with the 'y' changing for other characters. Obviously playing on peoples' trust of the NHS, but this one seems pretty elaborate.

Hi all, thanks for the confirmation. Unfortunately, these pieces of s!@ts are still at it. Some thing on gumtree. advertising many underpriced vehicles, as soon as I express an interest, all vehicles removed and an email the next day.
Boils my pӣs knowing these gits are fleecing people.

These criminals are very clever at taking over dealers Ebay accounts.

For any dealers on here, this is how they do it, so you're aware.

They message you about one of your cars for sale saying they have a PX.

They give you a link to click to view their PX as it's currently on Ebay.

You click that link and you then get a page which looks just like the Ebay log in page.

You fill in your log in details and there you go, you've just given a crim your log in details on a fake Ebay page.

They then take over your account, lower all your prices, start email communication with people to get either £500 deposits or worse.

I had nearly the same problem.
I was interested in a boat.
I have written with Michael Kevin Clark.
This is his Email Adress: [e-mail].
He never really answered to my Mails.
But he sendet me this Mail:
I'll explain you each step of the transaction so please read carefully the terms to understand how it works .
I will pay the delivery fees and delivery boat insurance because I am interested to sell my boat in good conditions .
- I will need from your part, your delivery information - complete name, complete delivery address, to confirm me your email and your contact phone number to make the required formalities and begin the deal.
- After the formalities for delivery are done ,the company will notice you about this and they will send you the deal official sale papers .
- You should make a deposit payment to the delivery company escrow Bank Account as a guarantee ,represented by 50% from the boat sale price upon signing of contract.
- The company will check the received payment in their Bank Account and after they will start the boat delivery to your location. Please note that the deposit will be kept in the company bank account, because it is an escrow account until the end of our deal .
- After you will receive the boat ,you will get a 5 days trial period, to verify the boat , I think that is enough and if you will change your mind after the inspection of the boat you have the option to cancel the deal and your deposit will be refunded .In this case the transport company will pay your deposit back in full in your bank account .
- The transport company will take care for all export paper, work documents and they will register the boat under your name,because I empowered them to do everything on my behalf.
The delivery period to your location will be made in 9 - 10 days .
