Future Classics - What d'you reckon?
Discussion
So - story cut short, after paying a few small things off I'll be looking at a 'future classic' car to buy for around the 1-2k mark. Mostly for the enjoyment of maintenance and concourse-ing as well as using over the summer sunny weather.
Having owned a few Nova's and loving driving them I have been thinking of something along the lines of:
Corsa B sport
306 GTi6 / Rallye
Astra GSi
106 GTi or Ph1 Rallye
What do you guys reckon the next 'classic' cars will be? Planning on something absolutely 'mint' and totally standard (irregardless of how 'poverty' spec it is..)
So - any suggestions? Open to anything really - the short list above is just what comes to mind.

A Clio 182 Cup is still a good buy, but trying to find a 'mint' car for £1-2k is tough.
Buy a car you're going to love and enjoy driving.
So many different cars going through my head at the moment!
As I said - open to looking at any cars really that I might think would be a future classic.
Going on from the e46 BMW - I've been looking at e36's too (I do have a soft spot for them!)
Another on the 'hot hatch' front was a Fiesta ST150 (mk6) but they seem to have already started to rocket in prices.

What about a BMW Z3? A few are available for under £2,000 and if you get one with under 100,000 miles it should old it's value well.
THIS ^^You'll have to be quick though - most of the 6 cylinder cars are already soaring in value, good 3 litre cars go for up to £10,000 already and M cars for between £20,000 and £40,000!
There are lots of 1.9, 2.0 and 2.2l cars for between £2000 and £3000, but their prices are at the Spring premium at the mo, wait till the Winter and they will dip again. The small engined models must be an interesting alternative to an MX5!
If you can find a MK1 MX5 that has yet to disintegrate into a pile of rust, they are appreciating now.
These are all interesting..
I do have a softspot for a BMW as my rally car is an E36 compact and I use a 520d on the road!
I was discussing this topic with a friend yesterday who reckoned the next 'ship to sail' will be the Cooper S Minis and things like that, he also mentioned stuff like the older shape ibiza cupra, St150 fiesta's etc.
It's hard to judge the future isn't it!!
