Is there a car out there that ticks all these boxes?

So I am now faced with high fuel costs because I travel to London from Leicester twice a week, in addition to my daily commute. This has lead me to consider getting a new car. My current daily drive is a clio sport 200, prior to that I had a clio 172 cup (best car ever). I also have an LS1 Camaro (manual). So, I like cars that are fun in one way or another. The clio 200 is not as fast, or as much fun as my old clio cup, and gets less mpg, so I am thinking of a change. I was wondering about getting a diesel, I know that even some of the larger diesels can get decent mpg on the motorway, so what's out there? Here is my wish list:

diesel engine (pref 3L+)
35-40 real world motorway mpg
manual gearbox
2wd (pref rear)
2 doors (poss consider estate)
responds well to mapping
Golf clubs and trolley fit in boot.

So.. is there anything? Most that I would otherwise go for are autos (bmw 6, 350E, etc). Audi A5 does seem to be available with a manual box, but I have only seen 4wd versions.

Budget is up to £30k but would like to spend less and don't rule out buying an older car if I can find something that fits the above. Anyone have any ideas? I will be glad to hear them, no matter how out of the ordinary they may be! (but please, no suggestions along the lines of: "just get an auto, the modern ones are so good" etc.. It isn't happening!)
