From 320D estate to ??

After a big bill from my 320D E91 I'm looking at changing it for another estate but am stuck what to purchase.
I really want an automatic next and I would prefer another Audi after liking a previous '07 A6 but I'm put off by the Multitronic CVT and it's infamous reliabilty issues. If they did a DSG then there would be no question.
I have a budget of £8000-9000, depending on trade-in for the BMW.
I'm looking at the new Passat or a Volvo V60, or I might think 'b
ks' and buy a manual A4 B8!
I've not really grown to like the 320D so not looked at an older model, tending to sway away from the brand.
Can you recommend anything else I should take a look at?
