I have my own ideas regarding a weekend muck-about motor, something that's already semi-sorted for approx £10k. Think 986 Boxter, S2000-esque.

What would you lot do? Doesn't have to be convertible, but as a summer motor to knock about in, it may be seen as a bonus. The only stumbling stone is that I'm 23, although I have 6 years NCB and no points (that I know of..) so insurance will have to be considered to an extent..

Fire away!

z4 coupe and some change.

Prices have remained steady for sometime now and quite rare so possibly wont drop much.

Sit right down low, quick enough for fun although not outrageous, relatively cheap to run in terms of fuel, tax and insurance (obviously depends on other factors), reliable.

They are getting on a bit now, with the last being 09's, so not the most modern inside and things may rattle, need replacing like any car. Still look great for their age.

VX220, M3, Boxster, 350Z, DC2, Impreza, almost GT86. You have a lot of choice!

Depends where and when you're going to use it and what your interests are. If you enjoy or are prepared to do a bit of spannering then I'd get something older as although older cars are often slower they are usually more involving. If you want to mod it ("semi sorted" suggests you do) then I'd get something Japanese. If you just want to drive something fun and a little special around some country roads on the occasional sunny day then Elise, VX220, Boxster, S2000 etc is a good bet.

Integra DC5 all day, especially if you want to make a few quid in the long run.
