hey guys,

Looking for a bit of advice here.

I own a 1.8 TFSI Quattro, brilliant car love it to bits but I was wondering what you guys thought I should do.

I have two options really, either keep my current A3 which I have on PCP (finance) and buy it out therefore meaning I can mod it how I want.

Or do I wait a year or two and get the latest same spec A3?

Just thought I’d get a few opinions before making a choice! Thanks!

Unless you really love it why would you bother getting the facelift? The new a3 will be arriving around 2020-2021 so might as well wait for that

How far though the PCP are you? I really wouldn’t bother changing if you’re in negative equity.

I do know a girl who had a pre facelift a3 and swapped it for a a3 pre facelift saloon with 100k on it

I was told by Audi i'd get a call to swap in in 2/3 years so I assume I'd get the call next year or the year after.

The car is in positive equity now, that's where i'm not sure what to do.

Either wait and get a new standard A3/A4 or keep my current one and mod it.

That's the ideal for me, I wanted a Mazda 3 MPS but I worked it out and would be paying similar to what I am now for my A3.

I want to increase the power of the car and aesthetics of the car too.

Pardon me, none of my business, but why didn't you buy the Mazda then, if that's what you wanted? Especially given you have a desire to make a humdrum A3 a bit meatier performing and looking, i.e. more Mazda 3 MPSish.

I'd get rid of the A3 and get something a bit more fun and interesting. Life is too short to drive an A3 let alone one after another.

Sorry, I worded that strangely.

I meant to say I was looking to get one alongside my A3 but couldn't afford both so I've settled for the A3.

I agree and I have one. Hate it so boring but it’s cheap now as I have done so many miles init. I have another car for fun. If I had the chance again I would never buy an A3 again though.

Well there are lots of upgrades you can carry out on it, I'm bias as I like to make every car I've owned my own, people will tell you to pick a better car etc just do what you want it's your car.

If everyone wanted to do up the same car the world would be a boring place.

True but an Audi A3 is hardly a unique car to modify, quite the opposite and there are better bases to start from.

Put a better first post up so we can understand why you want a change...
